In 1952 Carl Jung together with Nobel laureate in physics Wolfgang Pauli published a paper which explored the phenomenon, which Jung named «Synchronicity». And even though Jung did not analyze the phenomenon in its fullness, he tried to attract attention of the general public to it. He believed that our world is «unus mundus», the underlying unified reality from which everything emerges and to which everything returns. Hence the name of this website: we-are-connected.net refers to the idea that we all are fundamentally connected, that we form a network of interconnected individuals.

Actually what Jung meant by «Synchronicity», people have known for ages as precognitions, prophetic dreams, strange coincidences etc. Far more people had similar experience than is generally believed. Usually this topic is covered with a mystical, esoteric and astrological robe. To get an objective view the fantasy, magic and superstition which surround this phenomenon should be stripped off. Current website allows to address this old question on a global scale: people share their Visions and Stories, make them social. The information is thus timestamped and tagged, is ready to be analyzed from different angles, both subjective and objective. Visions and Stories are two key tools on this website for approaching synchronicity-like events.

As Mark Vernon notes, the key feature of phenomena like the Pauli effect and synchronicity is that they are random and beyond anyone"s direct control. It is (almost) impossible to approach it with pure scinetific methodology and it is why the mainstream of Science (with its dominating scientific realism and principle of locality) is sceptical about it. However, more and more support of this view comes from serious and rationalist sources, such as popular science magazines, emerging theories in physics (different interpretations of quantum entanglement, multiverse theory with its parallel universes etc.), books and articles of prominent scientists, writers, philosophers. So the idea of us fundamentally connected does not seem so absurd anymore.

we-are-connected.net attempts to explore this another dimension of which some people have only little knowledge. And who knows, maybe it could lead to a refreshing perception that our world is invariably strange and it is beyond the grasp of the mind; to the enlightening feeling that everything is one; to the understanding that we are connected.

How old do I have to be, to be eligible to use this website?

You have to be at least 13 years old to be eligible to use this website.

Which languages are supported at the moment?

At the moment the following two languages are supported: English and Russian. Other languages will be supported in the future.

Why don't I see automatic tags after I have processed my vision (clicked on the diskette icon)?

The automatic tags feature is supported not for every language. If your language supports it then the answer is that probably the requests quota that we are allowed to make has been reached. Or, alternatively, no tags could be extracted from your vision/story.

I don't want to see all these notifications popping up. How can I switch them off?

Unfortunately, at the moment this is not available. This feature will be added in the near future.

I have accidentally blocked a person. How can I unblock him/her?

To unblock a person you have to search for this person, providing his/her name in the Search field on the navigation bar. On the card which represents the user click on Unblock button.

I have accidentally removed a vision/story. Can I undo this?

No, visions/stories are removed irrevocably.

Can I see the visions/stories I liked?

This feature will be available in the future.

Can I use we-are-connected.net with the same user account simultaneously on different devices?

Yes, you can use it simultaneously on different devices in different browsers and in multiple browser tabs.

I have deactivated my account. Can I restore it?

Your account may be completely removed 30 days after its deactivation. If you want to restore it, use the feedback form, please.

I cannot log in. The website says "The account for this email was deactivated."

Unless your account was deactivated by the website administration or by yourself, then the following is the explanation: after your registration on this website you recieve an email, informing you about your successful registration. This e-mail contains a link which you have to follow to confirm your account. Unless you confirm it within 24 hours after registration, your account will be deactivated until you confirm it.

Additionally, when you post a Vision or a Story, you can assign visibility settings to it. You can make it «Private», «Public»(default value), or you can make it visible to certain «Groups» or friends («Custom»).
The comments or facts that you add to a Story or a Vision or your up- or downvoting will be visible in accordance with its parent's Story or Vision visibility settings.
Messages will be visible only to those users whom they were sent.
If you want to deactivate your account, once signed-up, go to Settings -> Account and click the «Deactivate my account» button.
All user data will be immediately deleted after the account has been deactivated.
